My mum always like him (but then she does get a free bus pass  :-X).

I remember when I was at primary school (5 miles away, so often got a lift in winter) the only 2 tapes in the car were Wired for Sound and Glen Cambell's Greatest Hits.

Therapy was expensive ;D

I think it is time he hung up his microphone now and called it a day. He may still appeal to middle aged/elderly women but nobody else.

Yep, from the brief bit of Songs of Praise I watched (with sound off!!) it seemed his audiance was full of woman of an average age of 70! :o :o :o :o ;)

I have never liked him since his "Living Doll" and "Summer Holiday" era, when he was 'hot'; went strange after that!! :o :o ;)

Very few of my family and friends share my views on this. :-* :-* :-* :-*

I reckon Cliff's gay - unfortunately for him he probably thinks this would horrify his aged fans and they wouldn't keep propping up his dismal records- so he has to keep schtum for the sake of the almighty dollar  :y

actually - if he did come out - i'm pretty sure none of his fans would care - it's not like they ever wanted to fork him is it?

anyway - he's garbage, altho mistletoe & wine is OK  ;)

Mistltoe & wine? In my christmas past she was usually too tired/tressed by then, fair go really.
Children singing christian rhymes? more like "where's me frickin' xbox?" & "i'm not eating this s**t." Wake up Cliff. ::)

Mind you Granny breaking yet another hip dancing to "Move it" after a few sherries usually cheers everyone up!  8-)

But his music is dire!

Leave the poor old fellow alone!  He was a pioneer in his day, and he's simply outlived all his contemporaries.

Where are the likes of Tommy Steele, Marty Wilde, Billy Fury and even Elvis Presley these days?

We've "Got ourselves a crying, talking, sleeping, walking, living mummy" - a national monument, if not an actual treasure.

I do believe that somewhere up in the loft, I've actually got a 45 of Voice in the Wilderness - or was that the B-side of something else?

Mind you, I don't think I've bought any more of his stuff in the last 48 years :)
