My Media Center has just started to dislike DVDRs.  Looks like drive has failed - sure this one is only around 1yr old, checked, and its about 15months old.

Its Optiarc, which, yes, is a JV between NEC and [size=14]SONY[/size]

A non Sony one on order from another supplier now.  Just buggered up my evening's viewing (my old dvd recorder is shite at upscaling)

I am certainly no fan of sony either, but in the news they are about to lay off 8000 workers, that's not nice.
