A friend of mine is selling her VW Polo 1.4 estate, and has asked me if I would be interested in buying it as a economical winter runabout.
The car is year 2000 on a "W" plate and has done 63000 miles. It is white (not a police car I hope ) has 6 months tax ,and an MOT till the end of February.
It has VW service history up until a couple of years ago, with local garage sevice after that. It is in good ,but not unmarked condition and runs perfectly apart from a heavy cable clutch.
I can clean my miggy up over the winter, and therefore have her nice and ready for next summer.
Not sure which road tax band a 1.4 Polo would be in ,but I would expect it to cost less than the miggy.
My friend wants £1000 o.n.o. for her Polo .
Can forum members tell me if they think this price is about right.
Thanks Dusty. :-* :-* :-* :-*

It'll be in the discounted "old style" tax bracket... Can't remember off te top of my head how much that is but IRO £70 for 6 months IIRCC :-/ :-/
As for the price... doesn't sound horrendous and TBH you'd probably get back the same in 6 months :y :y

And by 2000....Polos had servo brakes....although not a lot else.
It wont blow you away on the comfort, handling, features or anything else front....but it should be fairly economical

COuld buy a nice Omega for that - and they have electrically heated seats ;D

£1000 seems a tad high to me, the key thing in her asking price is the ..."or nearest offer"
