I get the feeling from my time on this forum that most OOFers have seen their miggies as a great secondhand buy.
I could be wrong ,but I would be surprised if more than 10% of forum members have owned their present miggy or any previous miggies from new.
Myself and Mr Dusty could never have afforded a new one.
So who actually purchased a new Vauxhall Omega..was your name the first in the log book (nice feeling).
Bearing in mind that the last 3.2 elite of about 2003 cost approx £32000....who bought these cars fresh from the showroom.
Doctors, dentists, solicitors and business men is my guess.
Anyboby know the answer. :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

There are bits missing under the bonner though! ;D ;D :y :y

if i'd had the money for a miggy brand new, the sad truth is that i doubt i'd have bought one, my 3.0 elite brand new was £29,865 back in 2001, what else could i have bought if i had that kind of cash??
a fantastic second hand car though, and as said many times before, you cant get anywhere near as much car for the money of a second hand omega

No the best I did Dusty was with brand new company Carlton's (2.0 CD's), and by the time I could obtain a miggy I and my ex had to buy cars ourselves. :(
But I did manage to buy my first miggy, 3.0 Elite, at just three years of age. ;) EDIT: The car that is!! ;D ;)

you WAS young when you had your 1st car then. ::)

Nope..........mine have always been secondhand.
Part of the appeal of the Omega for me is this.........It..is a fantastic car available for very little money on the used Market.
If I was lucky enough to have had £30000 spare ......would I have bought a new one...........sorry but no......too many great cars about for that kind of money.
Perhaps all the brand new omegas were heavily discounted....then it might have made more sense to buy new. :y :y :y

Im pretty certain AA's was an x demonstrator.....

Two cylinders for a start! ;D

Mine was 7 months old when i brought it still cost me 19k 8-)it had 8 0000 miles on the clock, Vx took the big hit ,not sure on the full price on a cdx 2.2 estate but must be in the region of 25-26 k I still love it to drive after 5 years of trouble free motoring ,as a lot of people have sad in past what is out there to replace the mig ? 8-) 8-) both of mine were ex demo,s my V6 and me oilburner, well i assume they were demo cars as previous owner was listed as VX worcester

i would NEVER buy a car that cost 30K brand new, financially it just doesn't make sense....
I would rather buy at 3-5 years old and make a saving of up to 60%.....to me its a no brainer
-
No way could we have afforded our 2 mv6's new!
They are 10 years old which is about the time we bought our house, the value of which was less than the combined cost of the cars at the time!
always looked at them as being a lot of car for little money! :y

That's what I meant! ;) :y :y

I've just looked mine up on parkers - £24,695 new.
6 Years and 80,000 miles later - £1,950.
That's a 92% drop in value in 6 years! I'd never pay £25k for a new car, when I can pick one up like this so cheap... ;D
-
I've driven mine from new but I'm the second owner, it was a company car for the first 3 years then I bought it and I've owned it for the last 10 years (the silver irmscher elite)
-
I didnt even buy mine :p
But it has had 4 previous owners. No.3 was my dad, no.4 was my mum :D
-
I have had mine from new if that counts. It used to be my company car. On a fully serviced lease it used to cost us £400+VAT per month. After 3 years I was reluctant to change it becasue of the commitment so I kept it for another 18 months. Then the lease company got pissed off and forced us to end to lease. So I bought it for £3,800 with 112k on the clock in July 2004
-
mine might not be the first on the log book but it is definatley the second. newest car i've ever owned and will be for some time.
-
Our facelift was just under 2 years old when we bought it.....so it still had warranty left on it.
It was 8 grand with 19K miles on it

Mine was 5 months old with 6400 miles... :)
And it gave me 6 years of very reliable motoring.
It was £10k below new 'list price', which explains why I never saw a new Omega at the Vx dealer showroom... I think they were all sold to fleets and lease hire etc, I doubt if any new ones where ever purchased by private buyers?

I want another one :'(
-
because of how cheap they're selling, and knowing i could still get £2500 for my 51 plate 1.2 corsa, it's so dangerously tempting for me to get one again!!
-
Had two Omegas from new (company cars) plus loads of Carltons.
