Static mobile homes aside at the likes of Butlins (and 'cottage style' in the South of France), I have stayed in a pikey wagon 3 times in my life:
once when I was about 5, my auntie/uncle (not real relatives) looked after a campsite on Norfolk coastline, and gave us a caravan for a week;
once about 10yrs ago after a bad camping in tent trip, borrowed Mrs TheBoy's dads van to go to Matlock/Buxton;
lastly, the very first OOF meet - on bloody cold night at Santa Pod 15th October 2006 - last minute decision to borrow a van, as weather had turned bloody cold, and she thought a tent would be too cold. As it happened, no sleep anyway due to the spotty chavs revving the nuts off their chavved up corsas
-
So, I feel I can say with some authority, caravans should be banned.
-
Ok people.....press your buttons now please

My vote is based on something someone said a couple of months back, but additionally, I think another admin used to have one as well :-X

And for those of you who occasionaly require me to do work on thier cars....choose your vote wisely....no pressure ;D
In that case, can I change my vote - don't want you bolting on a shin breaker when I'm not looking!

Yes but, I used an old axe I had lying about to do it so its quite a neat job.

Is this so you can tow your caravan without ruinning your own cars?

Based on this reply and the question of used to be a caravaner, I will go with AA. I think Broocie is looking for or already has a van.

After being an avid user of canvas for many a year, finally succommed to a tin tent at the summertime. Its on a seasonal pitch, however, so does not clog up the roads like other 'weekend pikeys' do.... Still like canvas tents though.... :y

......that a certain Admin used to be a caravanner weekend gypsy.....
I still am, so to speak. :y So I think that someone is being a tad mischevious by allowing my 'van to be a smokescreen for the previous weekend pastime of others..... ;)
