Title: www.omegaowners.com in hosts file
Post by: TheBoy on 28 December 2008, 10:08:32
If you have www.omegaowners.com in your local hosts file, I suggest you remove it today, as the IP address **may** change in next day or 2!

There is no extension to it - if you add one it won't work.  You can open it in Notepad (right click, then "Open With..." assuming Windows) - it just doesn't know its actually a text file, so won't open it by default.

I assume you now have the file open in Notepad  :-/

If you do, add it at the bottom of the file underneath

127.0.0.1 localhoast

ip addy then website adress

so..ie..

123.123.123.123 www.wherever.com

hth  :y

Just checked my hosts file on my lappy, it has in it

# 208.113.202.37  images.omegaowners.com
# 217.155.56.220      www.omegaowners.com

which is fine......coz the # means the entries are to be ignored  :y :y
