Title: Personalised Plates
Post by: PaulW on 03 January 2009, 00:09:57
Are they really worth it??

Given what I have planned, I'm somewhat tempted to look into them just for the uniqueness, but not 100% sure...

I know if my Elite was on a V-plate, I'd get the "V6 OOF" mark, but being on an S, its a bit of an impossibility  ::)

Just wondering what people think??

OOF plates are cheap as chips & i considered one for the Beastie (also S. Reg) but decided that other than at a meeting it would mean nothing & i'd get sick of explaining it to folk day to day. Never understood initials either, ie mine would be GJM but why bother? No one else knows what it means unless your christian name only has 3 letters. Keep looking & you'll dig up something that works & cheap.

   I did!!!!!! [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif] :P :P :P

got a private plate on the Jag The Jeep and the clit Sport...

To be honest i blagged the Jeep & Jags from cars i was scrapping and ( after much complication) tranasferred them over. Neither plate has any relevance....

Wifes on the other hand was bought specifically for her from DVLA, and it causes confusion as she kind of has a 3 letter name....and she wanted it as "V 6 xxx "

Looked good on the Omega she had then but on a clitSport it worries and confuses folk  ;D

I dont see too much point in private plates that dont look like plates, there was one i saw on a lexus yesterday that looked completely ordinary, the only reason i figured it out was it was a 53 plate on an 06 model

I have T8DPR on my corsa, bought it when i first passed my test and it's been on every car i've had apart from my elite (:'()

Hmmm, cherished number plates. Some would say that they are the exclusive preserve of those with more money than taste. I, on the other hand, couldn't possibly comment.  ::)

My grandparents bought mine in 1972, including the Vanden Plas Princess R it was on it cost £350!!

Its the number 1 followed by three letters that are my Nan's initials, they gave it to me for my 21st, along with the original log book that is stamped with the yearly road tax and the advert from Exchange and Mart.

Had it valuded about 18 months ago and they guaranteed minimum of £12k, which was nice  ;D

But i won't sell it
