Now that is early! ;D ;D
We used to put cream eggs out in January, but the large Easter eggs themselves used to go out in about February throughout our stores ;) ;)
It just shows you how desperate the retail market has become to grab every sale possible. :D ;)

May be but I don't know anyone who buys Easter Eggs early, we certainly don't as there is always plenty left in the shops for any last minute offers........ :y

Amazingly Mike there was always some who loved the taste of Easter egg chocolate and bought them! ;D ;D ;D
From a retailers point of view they are also filling space that in these difficult times they do not want to fill with minimal sales potential stock. Rather than leave them empty, as you cannot sell space, you fill them with stock you are already fully committed to that would have been ordered in about May/June of 2008. ;) ;)
They have undoubtedly brought the delivery dates forward. :)

Lass on till said 'errr, its not an easter egg, its a chocolate father christmas'... im sure I went bright red, and had to laugh! :-[ :-X
Was funny at the time!

A quote from morrisons:
"We have recognised that some of our customers like to start shopping for easter eggs early in order to spread the cost"
Point 1: There aren't any easter eggs out on display, just creme eggs for fat bastards to stuff all year round.
Point 2: At asda last year full size eggs eg. kit kat, mars bar, smarties etc. were on sale for £1. There cant be that many people who need more than, say, 10, so not much cost to spread out.
