just call the rover garage for a quote on the parts needed to get my puddle jumper upto speed and mechanically sound and well to be honest i was shocked at the orginal quote of £165 then asked cheakaly for discount as i am in the MOD he said yes and gave me the lot at trade final bill £116.
:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
p.s this is for:
cambelt kit
cam cover gasket
water pump
ps belt
alt bellt
air, fuel and oil filters

i am well chuffed with the result!

The stuff for the K series is cheap anyway. Yous being slightly older, it takes the really cheap cambelt kit (around £30 pattern). I had a spare older style camcover gasket in the garage you could have had, but then they are only a few quid.
If unipart, the newer PS belts are 5mm shorter, which makes it a bit of a challenge to get on.

Exactly. I tend to go in knowing I'll walk out empty handed, as often they won't meet my demands pricewise...

Good luck, its all fairly simple stuff on that car :y
As soon as you get camcover off, check tensioner is same type as yours (one has a triangular pointer, one has a wire pointer). If different, the belt is a different length as well! Last time, Motorserv gave me wrong one (Gates book had error)

I've got the cambelt to do on our Rover 25 Diesel, should be fun :)

Never done one on L series - the 2 L series cars we had were a comapny lease, so they just sorted it all out.
