Title: Not omega but it's a vauxhall
Post by: Del Boy on 05 January 2009, 21:13:41
Keeping it in the family and joining any other forums. Wondering whether you could help me my Combo appears to take a long time to warm up (heater guage) some mornings the actual warm air comes through quite quickly pretty much all the time now it takes about half hour to actually get any warm air at all to come out. After taking it out on a long run today and it was warm parked it a car park and seemed to lose heatthere is plenty of water in the system and no leaks does this sound like a thermostat to you lot if not any other ideas'? When it was warm today and coming out hot and a bit cold I felt the heater hoses and they don't feel overly hot any ideas. Thanks  ;D

I should add that following STMO's deleted comment.....the Corsa and Meriva engines suffer due to worn housings resulting in a stat that does not seat properly....hence why you change the stat AND housing!  :y

Yep. Posted too quick without reading what rather car he was talking about ;D

I can live with it in my meriva, I only ever go about five miles so iy hardly ever gets warm.  I also let it idle for about 15 mins in the morning to warm up. I'll wreck the engine but I dont care.
