For a very limited time only, we are producing black t-shirts, with the t-shirt OOF logo in white, along with your forum ID.
Price is £9 plus p&p, and will be offered in the OOF shop in the next few hours.
Limited numbers, and limited sizes available, and will be on a first come first served basis.
These will be delivered before Christmas.
The offer will expire at 23:59 on Sunday 14th December 2008.

Remember to send me PM with forum id and order number if you didn't specify it in order. Also, an email from shop has come out confirming what the personalisation is (with the exception of Entwood's, as his request was very very clear :y). Please check that persoanlisation is correct, and let me know asap if not.

If they sold that quick get some more sorted & bear in mind those of us who don't work regular hours or have tinter access all day.

Hehe, I'm gutted I missed them too, hopefully there will be some more soon after the popularity of these, I'd just be happy with a Black one without personalisation on it. :y

The demand took us by surprise :o - we were expecting to have some left at the closing date of this offer on Sunday...
Whether or not we will repeat this soon/ever depends on how well this goes logistically, and also whether we feel the financial risk to OOF is acceptable. It is likely (currently) that personalisation will not be a regular option due to the issues surrounding the logistics.
Perhaps in the Spring, may do a poll about colours/sizes again - though OOF cannot afford to have lots of stock at any one time, so sticking to single colours is obviously more beneficial from that point of view. Black seems popular, a couple of us have some blue ones (I'm sure Hotel21 will demo his - mine is covered in oil!) which I reckon look pretty decent as well. I have a yellow on green which works reasonable as well.

We're looking at this as an experiment - if it goes well, we may well repeat it. If the logistics or costs (still an unknown) involved in making this happen don't work, obviously it won't be repeated.
If we do repeat it, it involves a number of things all happening and being in place at the right time - not least of which, Mrs TheBoy having the time, which is a problem as she is at work all day, at college/courses most weekends, and doing college homework most evenings. That in itself means it definately will not be repeated before spring.

the quick order of black t-shirts, the sizes were based on the poll a few months ago, so there were no small or mediums available anyway.

Sadly, it is unmanageable, not to mention divisive/unfair if I prewarn some members but not others, to let them know up front, so obviously that cannot happen.
Really not sure if this will happen again, as it was a bit of mare, and took her much longer than originally envisaged. She has a whole heap of homework to do before Feb, so it certainly won't be before then.

One negative though - I think the ziploc bag was overkill

There is nothing to stop anyone getting a JPEG of the 'logo', sending it to an embroidery company who will make the shirts to order.
I do know a company that does not charge for logo set up and one lot of embroidery or print in one position is included in the price of the top.
They quote on their website polo shirts are £18.91 +VAT BUT i have set up a deal with them for shirts for the sailing club i belong to including 2 lots of embroidery for £16 + VAT.
They advertise the t-shirts at £6.49 +VAT including one lot of embroidery (i.e. logo and name) so based on the above reduced rate for polos i would guess you could have them embroidered and delivered for £10.
They do not charge any extra for 'one offs', but do do a discount if you order 6 or more of the same style (but not necessarily the same size).
If you went down this route it removes the issues of anyone doing it in their 'spare time' and they will do a direct link to their website with payment made directly to them.
Obviously i have not mentioned the company that will do this incase the admins want to keep this as an 'in house pocket money' job.
But if admins are interested i will pm company details

I only buy the larger ziploks, as it allows 2 or 3 to go in one. Only reason for ziplok is to keep it dry should the postie have a very wet day, and to keep an element of extra protection.
Unsure about postcounts or decisions based on other factors - for certain things (eg, for sale section, and possibly the relaunch of the webspace stuff, its a necessary evil)...

Except the logo is copyright, and you need OOF's permission (which would be a collective permission from the admin team) to reproduce it (or get it reproduced).
The small profits made from these - or anything else in the OOF Shop - are for running the site/club. The Admin Team get no financial gain from OOF (quite the opposite :-X) or its Shop :y

Which is why i did say i would not post details of company that would do the tops without admins say so.
Most companies charge for logo set up so makes the first 20 or so very expensive, this firm doesn't. (they would actually do the full colour logo fully embroidered for the same price as the 'shaddow' logo)
And as far as i can see there is no issue if you do make anything out of doing them yourselves, to be honest you could get them made and sell them on and still make something or put it back into the website, its entirely up to you, it was just a suggestion to try and help as a number of 'members' appear desperate to get their hands on one ;D

What I meant was to make personalised shirts only, not to take shirt sales away from TB and co.
