Title: Call Me stupid but.......
Post by: Markie on 08 January 2009, 12:45:19
I am a phonecall away from booking the Jaguar in for its annual service and MOT.

With a Jaguar Main Dealer.

Am I mad ??

Its done 3k since i got it and it had a new MOT on it when i bought it - with no advisories so it really wont need much.

As for servicing - well i dont have the time and its got Jag Main Dealer stamps all the way so far.

So anyone want to guess what they have quoted me for a 80,000miles service ( which is not really a main - 70,000miles was a biggie)

I`ve just booked it in - its not bad at all is it...

Even better when ( via my work email being given) the service manager reslised who i worked for we have managed to a bit of mutual back scratching  :y

Sounds a lot for what will be little more than an oil change (if your lucky) and a walk round box ticking exercise!

Oil change, Oil filter, Pollen and Air Filters and fuel filter if required. And yep quite correct they`ll toot the horn to make sure it works etc etc...

Priced it at £100 for me to do, priced at £150 for my mates rates MOT station.

My logic is for a ton and a half more i get the full Jag history maintained and dont need to lie on the ground draining oil.

Im potentially upgrading this year so want it full Jag History - it might not mean much to you or I Mark ( or anyone in the industry) but many Jag owners havent got a clue about the real world  ;D

indeed, but its a service your money is paying for, ( disposal of parts oil, ets) plus a warranty for exsample if something missed on inspection while being serviced, then failed a short time after,
