Those who know me know full well I'm certainly not a racist, so, I'm battling with my mind as to just what is wrong with the term that our Prince has come out with.
I have many Asian friends who don't find it offensive, as long as it's used in context and with respect. After all Asians call us "Brits"
So, is it me or PC gone bloody mad again...
Please shed some light...... Someone...... Anyone...... :-/

what he said could be taken as offensive. but he never said it with any malice or with the intention of hurting anybody. dont see what all the fuss is about. surely there are more important things to worry about than what some illagitamate love child said to 1 of his friends nearly 3 years ago.

Is the term ""Darkie"" offensive refering too a black person umm sorry coloured....no sorry again black....no coloured.
Load of old cobblers as far as im concerned....long as its not meant or said in a derogatory term i dont see the harm.
All this PC crap has done is allow people too jump on the pc bandwagon and jump on anyone who calls a spade a spade.
Christ not that long ago it was common place on TV for people too say paki...saboo ect ect.
Just watch Minder...Sweeney or any show from that era.

exactly. we often see the phrases BRITS, YANKS, AUSSIE'S, KIWI'S in the papers and on the news. surley these are also racist comments or am i missing the point here.

Now .... I am totally against the over PC world we are creating -- but do take issue with the highlighted statement ---- even if no offense was meant, if offense was taken, then it IS offensive.
I have friends of all shapes, sizes, creeds and colours. Some I can use "Un PC" terms witn, some I can't. or don't know them well enough yet to know, so, until I do know I err on the side of, not politically correctness, but courtesy.

I'd like to know WHO brought this to the attention of the press..another wasted wage. I appreciate some people are miss named, ie colour & origin but otherwise what's all the fuss about? Regardless of where we're from or what colour we are a name goes with it. I live in Lincolnshire & get called a Cockney C*nt....can't hear the Bow Bells from Croydon. Bet Harry's mates all call him a ginger but he get's on with it.
This whole debacle is'nt worthy of press/media coverage.FFS >:(

I believe HOLY COUNT has a good point here IE not to offend.-for example there may be scotsmen who dont mind being called Jock or Irishmen who dont mind being called Paddy as long as its not meant in any malicious way but there are those who, quite understandably really, might take offence. Thankfully most people are reasonable, but there are those who are oversensitive and then there are those of this ridiculous pc brigade that I'm sure 99% of us think talk a completely different language,ie to paraphrase Victor Meldrew, "complete bo**ocks". I dont see myself as racist and I dont see somebodys sex, colour or nationality as having any bearing on how I might feel about them. As for their politics or religion however, then I think you CAN have a right to comment as these are not innate factors. I think it was Rowan Atkinson who said, with regard to free speach, it is more important to have the right to offend than not to be offended.
