someone said something earlier about some tescos peanuts. it said on the back of the pkt "may contain nuts" all there food products either may contain nuts, no nuts in this product or made in a nut free area and nuts made elsewhere ???????? :-?
there rather nuts aint they ;D ;D ;D

We had a letter from school the other day saying that one of teh children on my little lads class has a peanut allergy.
It asked if we could not send food in lunch boxes with peanuts in (fair enough) or anything that stated there might be traces of nuts....
.....well the latter is almost impossible so they can break off on that one!

my old local chippy in aylesbury famously went belly up around 20yrs ago after they killed a schoolgirl with their (rather nice) curry sauce, which had peanut oils in, but they never mentioned.
it was national news, and the usual media uproar. i guess businesses are now scared.

so the store is basically covering there back by labelling everything. m8 is allergic to nuts, im allergic to cooking apples.

Well -- stop cooking them -- I'm allergic to washing up -- but the missus doesn't believe me ::)

i had to stop eating apple when i was about 8 i think, everytime i ate apple pie i had convulsions, never knew what causes it. a few yrs ago i had a cherry pie that contained apple, luckily i just tasted it and spat it out, but i nearly passed out from it, i wont even have the apple drinks.

i cant handle polystryene being rubbed on anything, the noise drives me mad ;D ;D

If you ever have the misfortune to see someone have a full scale allergic reaction you will be very very frightened.. it is, or can be, very bad.
Each "attack" is worse than the last as the body simply over reacts.
A guy I used to work with was "known" to be allergic to nuts, he had had 4 major attacks in his life, and it was expected that he would not survive another. He carried with him at all times ( actually he had 4, one in a pocket, one in his car, one in his washbag and one clipped to his phone) a high pressure adrenalin injector (some military folk might remember what was used for atropine in NBC drills) the needle of which would go through leather.
It was reckoned he had 15 seconds to get the jab in.. or he'd be dead in 90 seconds.
I fully understand why he was very very careful about what and where he ate ... must have been like living with a time bomb :(

I used to own a chippy and to be honest any one with an allergy generally know what food they can/cant eat.
But to be fair you cant go displaying what food contains what as its on sale.
Chips £1.00 (May contain potatoe skin due to the lazy git in the back not doing his job right)
Cod £3.00 ( May contain odd worm - This is due to fish feeding habbits)
Peas £0.50- (may make you fart - Soaked over nite with tablespoon of bicarb)
Most people with allergys tend to make the shop aware, and the owner will allways go out of thier way to make a customer happy.

Sounds like simply cutting out the cider and moving directly on to the after-effects to me.

his adrenalin will be pumping trying to get that needle in, poor bloke. my x has epilepsy, ive seen her face smashed to pieces, my dad had to break the bathroom door down 1 morning as she had 1 in there, scared the break out of me dad. luckily she hasnt had one for about 10 yrs now, got re diagnosed, different medication, she was like a zombie half the time, was heartbreaking watching her having a siezure. :(

i used to drink snakebites, never affected me nin cider, couldnt drink it on its own as i find it sickly now.
