Title: So today it begins....
Post by: Marks DTM Calib on 19 January 2009, 08:37:25
I now have everything ready to start Mick Dundees car.

Headgaskets, stem seals etc (I have been slowly getting best deals on these over the last 2 months!)
Inserts for the re-location of lambda sensors.

Also got a set of 3.0 cams for it.....and the total budget so far is sub 200 quid!

So it gets moved onto the drive tonight and the stripdown begins.

First job will be a strip down to the block, remove the front pipes and work on the heads, this will probably take around 1 month (heads and inlet will get a stage 1 port and math).

I cna also dispel a few myths along the way I suspect!

I do believe that he has a certain test route and compares performance from a certain roundabout to the start of town  :-X

Probbably more accurate than a lot of rolling roads. Always good to have a "before and after". ;)

Mark - can you let me know on the sources of parts as I have a similar job to do on mine. I am considering a £100 banger for a week or so while I do mine when the weather improves.

Not so bothered on the porting - but it would be rude not to - I am also considering a head skim to raise compression slightly.

Might move the LPG nozzles to the inlet manifold too.

I wonder if I can get a £100 FL banger ;D

BTW Got the rad :y
