Sitting at my desk this afternoon and get a phone call from wife saying she's sitting in the Rover 25 outside the front of the house, but can't get out because the cloth tag on the end of the zip on her fleece has been jammed in the safety belt release clip when she put the belt on and it won't open. I got the belt released OK, but I had to rip the tag off after unsuccessful attempts to ease it out, inevitably leaving part of the tag in the clip. Now it won't operate at all.
Can these things be opened up and closed again satisfactorily, or is it a new stalk, do you think?

cant imagine a replacement clip would be too dear or difficult to get hold of...

'New' stalk Bill I reckon!

They cost quit a few quid if they are the pretensioner type and you have to make sure you get the right coloured plug ;)

I had to replace the whole stalk on a Rover827, in the past, easy enough Job, though I needed Star Drives, and this was some years ago when they were not so available. :)

Oh yeah, if they do have pre tensioners make sure you disconnect the battery, eh Daz ::)
