What do you all think of this?
http://www.smokemachines.net/buy-car-smoke-screen-security-system.shtml
I know the price is quite high but apart from that do you think it would be effective?
-
I think it is an unnecessary expense - especially considering that miggies aren't worth much these days.
-
True, but what about stuff that might be inside though... even though there should never be anything on show... someone might come looking.
However I agree the price is rather high but if it was, say £50-£100 I'd jump at it.

Imagine that failing in the outside lane of the motorway :o
-
Haha yes good point, but they do say there's something built in to stop activiation while moving. Horrible thought though!

Ooo not good! :-/
But it does say that there is a fail safe to prevent it from deploying if the vehicle is in motion!

Edit: Beat to it by Bumbazor! :o

Snakeoil IMO

Can I fit one for my neighber, I need it to go off when she walks into her house.

If something is on show the thief will see it before he breaks in and it is easy to empty the glovebox. I can't say if it would be effective as it depends on how desparate the thief is. e.g. If you live in an area full of crackheads then they might just drive away whilst looking through the window or find another way.
If you have had breakins before i would recommend an aftermarket alarm with a thatcham approval since this would reduce your insurance premium. Just my pennies worth!

They're all valid points well made.
I've already fitted a second alarm (in addition to the factory fit) so this would have been a more immediate deterrent.

Pity they dont come up with an anti-vandalism device to stop all those tw*ts whose idea of fun is to kick your wing mirrors off, snap your wipers or key the sides. Roof mounted machine gun anyone??

I once saw one of the 'Police Car Wars' type of programmes and they had an item from South Africa where an anti-hijack device was flames coming out the side from underneath the car.
Now there's an idea!
