We (and Mark DTM, we tent share) normally take the kids to one of the meets, but tend not to at Newent, both kids are 2ish and 5ish.

Become tradition, we take the kids to one, but try and get baby sitters for the other, so we can relax more.
Previously we take em to the lakes, but not Newent, no logic in it.

Tent sharing maybe a good idea this year if everyone who has put their name down turns up....

I'm not sharing a tent with anyone   :) .... I'll be in the "tin palace" and if anyone needs use of kettle/oven/microwave/soldering iron etc etc ... for the relevant fee (as ordained by Mr John Smith  http://www.johnsmiths.co.uk/sitemap.htm)  I'm sure something can be arranged .....

Yes... 35 pitches in total and she told me when I called that we're welcome to have more than the current 20, the others will just be seperated by the driveway! Sounds like a really nice place. We're looking forward to it as long as SWMBO can sort out the clash in commitments she forgot about! ::) ::) ::)

Wasn't trying to tread on your toes LK... Was just chatting to her when I rang! :y :y :y

Mentioned that it looked like it was going to be a good turnout and that interest had already reached over 20... She told me there was more space available in the "adults only" section the other side of the drive if we needed it!

Please don't think I'm trying to do your job, you're so much more organised than me :-[ :-[ :y :y

Not sure about that...
I already know about the Adult Area but people get are getting confused. I have already been asked if children can go to this site, as they have seen Adult Site somewhere.... when I have put in the original post that its a Family Site.
Last year was rather confusing with people phoning and trying to book themselves in when I was supposed to be taking the bookings for the weekend. So when I turned up with 20 odd cheques, expecting no-one to have paid as I was going to collect the money when everyone had there tents/caravans set up. So when I went into see the owners mum some money had been taken off some people not off others and became confusing..

well its ages away so its something that can be looked at near the time.

but its a good idea to have all the kids in one area as then when they all play together is close to their tents etc. plus my moster will be in eye sight while i am talking cars ;D ;D

well tell the ladie that we are taking over the site and kids will have to go in the adults only bit! lol

the only problem i can for see is if some one with kids turns up and they have to go in the adults bit as there is no room else where and she wont let them stay.

I don't see a problem ... by September  the guys will know who's coming and who has kids and can plan accordingly....  if there are 20 pitches in the main field and 10 in Adult .... 10 out of 30 have kids .. then those 10 go in the main field ... and the 20 split as they arrive ...

This doesn't need sorting until August IMHO ....  the ONLY way it would be a problem is if there were more with kids than slots on the main field ... and I don't see that happening ...

wrt leccy hookups, as per all previous meets, my power needs are minimal, so if not enough hookups, can happily share via extension lead with others who need minimal power.

All I need to power is my fridge, phone, light and laptop chargers, airbed pump, so no problem to share with someone else with similar requirements.  Most camping hookups are either 6A or 10A.

I think at lakes last year, I had a hookup, extension to the Zoks, with a further extension to Jimbob...

Don't remember an extension lead that reached from you, all the way across the field to PaulW....  ....mind you I was in a mucking fuddle most of the time ::)

At the Lakes, Ms Hitler was a bit anti leccy sharing, esp as the power kept tripping (due to their poor setup), but no such problems at Newent :y

I have been on the phone to the Owner of the Site...

We can have around 40 pitches, some of which will be in the Adult Area which is just across the driveway so only throwing distance away.

So anyone taking their children who will be welcome at the site, Please will you state this in your PM to me so I know you need to go on the family side.

Can we class Supermop/Greg as a child, as its probably wise to have the bob.dent's BBQ near (though probably not too near?) where the families are, so parents are able to 'join in' but still be near enough and in visual sight of the little ones....

lmao ;D ;D ;D

I reckon families should go on the big field opposite where you tent was Jaime. Like you say parents will be able to see the kids tents and still be able to be with the rest having a laugh.

Along that hedge where JueV6 and SheWhoMustNotBeOutbid stuck up their part time pikey tent last year, and where Jay W was for last 2 years?  Sounds like a plan?

Yeah thats where i was thinking, plus like we said yesterday we can get smaller tents on one pitch. That is also ok with the owner :y
