Title: Weather updates please!!
Post by: Lazydocker on 02 February 2009, 20:23:59
Tomorrow I have got to travel from Ipswich to Reading... I have 2 easy route choices so am after some weather updates from anyone along the potential routes. Roads in question and areas are?

A12, Chelmsford, Colchester and M25 area
M25, North and South side as either can be used
M4, Heathrow - Reading
M3, M25 to jcn3
A14, Ipswich to Cambridge
A428, Cambridge-Bedford and beyond

Just to give me an idea which way is better when I look tomorrow :y :y :y :y :y

m4 from heathrow to reading is usually good in morning, most is coming into london, been heavy snow here so m4 maybe congested tomorrow around heathrow area cause of the delays and cancellations. can be a nightmare at the junction

TBH I know the area pretty well... Used to work Airfreight at Heathrow for 5 years :y :y :y

Wont be travelling in rush hour anyway as SWMBO has had her day's clinic cancelled in Hoddesdon due to the weather and has an unexpected day off! (unpaid :( :'( :'() God side is that we can travel to Reading at our own convenience :y :y :y

If thats the case, use M25 -M4 to Reading or any other Major Route as they are the ones that get gritted first. Just keep listening to your radio. Good luck. :y

Not necessarily the best way though... Today the M25 was chaos because some rather idiots just assume that as it's been gritted they can race around it like a dry day >:( >:( >:(

Thanks though... Radio is always tuned to a BBC station on a long journey and I also have TM :y :y

Trouble is I've got to get to the M25... 75 ish miles of bad A road as the A12 hasn' been up to the job for years ::) ::) ::)
