Couple of inches fallen here in the mountains tonight, but the current flurries are passing the window horizontally in the gale-force winds.....add-in the wind-chill and it`s minus 12 C. outside. :o

We had a mad 'arf hour of it around 3pm(i'm about 20 miles south of Elite Pete)...which had promptly frozen. I found this out when i nipped out in the Mig, hit the wipers and think I now need a new set looking at the lines over the screen [smiley=angry.gif]

ill see what its like before i attempt to take the daughter to school

Well it's started now, good covering and coming down heavily, sideways ::) Our village has only two ways out, the main'ish road running through and that is that, Surrounded by open fields, if the wind keeps up we will be going nowhere in the morning. :y
Just remeinded swmbo that as she works in a school, 'Cover Supervisor', she has a duty to report to the nearest school, our village primary, which she could walk to...... She was quite rude to me...... ;D ;D

How did we ever manage when most cars were rear wheel drive :question
I think the width of modern tyres is a disadvantage in the snow. :-/
-
Still nothing just a clear cold night. Hope it dosen't snow as i ride my pushbike to work :-?

I have to rather well go to work when the weather is bad - christ, I used to climb telegraph poles in this weather (and yes I have had white-outs).
Saying that, I am working from home today, but only because its Monday

Total disaster here. 6 inches or more on the ground. Tried to take mrs. KW to work. MX5 was the vehicle of choice given that the Omega was under 6 inches of snow and the MX was garaged. Got 1/2 a mile up the A31 before we decided it was a very bad idea. Roads totally untreated. Barely enough traction to move and even then the back end was all over the show. Driving the Omega would have been a very bad idea. :-X
Oh, the joys of being a threee rear wheel drive car family. ;)

One good thing, the Post Office was empty this morning, Monday is normally busy due to pension day ::)
-
Pretty heavy now in Covnrty and supposed to get worse as the day goes on.
Worse in Nottingham, the drive down the A46 was limited to a single lane at 20mph behind the gritter for most of it!
-

Had a go in the old mans v6, RWD omega + snow = :) :) :) :)

Im stuck too - that came from no where - was up at 6am and nothing.
Got up to about 3 inches of snow at 730 and now about 5 inches of snow....regardless of having the jeep and 4x4 Jag Im not going out at this stage as none of the roads are gritted and you cant see where the kerb and road meet....
-
have not got a drop here on the ground :'(
-
We've had a load more here, but still not what I would class as bad. Though I've only wandered around the estate, so no idea what its like further afield
-
All of this is because of global warming >:( >:(
Snow? In winter? How absurd :D :D
-
I got to the airport this morning OK at 6:30am, roads a bit snow, but if you drove carefully you were OK. However bloomin pilot didn't like cold stuff so was stuck in plane for 2hrs 20mins before takeoff, and he wouldn't let us go back to the terminal for a coffee, and we are trying to sleep and he's playing that damn "Jet 2 Radio station".
Ah the joys of flying !

You want to come down the coast a bit... Falling thick and fast here!
I've only just got home and it's already settling on the miggy :o :o
Got to go out again in a while to pick up SWMBO and take her for a home call in the sticks... Didn't let her drive this morning as she's no very confident in the snow... Hasn't got a good track record and because I'm a softie at heart ::) ::)
More brownie points in the bag :y :y :y

I was in Colorado in 1998 when they had 36" of snow in 24 hours, and that did stop (most) of the traffic!! :D :D ;)

13" of fresh snowfall on top of ice here today; the schools/Doctor`s/shops are open 'as usual'.....no doubt, any Health and Safety bods will have an attack of the vapours upon reading this! ::)
-
all its doing here now is raining :'(
-
Only a couple of centimetres here - still snowing, but not settling any more. Took the wife to school this morning - no problem - roads all cleared/gritted. Dropped her at the school, drove away, and then she called 2 minutes later to say they'd decided to close the school - don't know why - most of the others are open in the Ipswich area.
Couldn't back into my drive, though. :( Apparently, the traction control doesn't work in reverse gear. Went back down the road and turned round, then drove in forwards with no problem. Didn't think I'd be going out again, but one of my neighbours who shares the drive had to clear it all as he couldn't back out. So I quickly turned the car round and I'm facing the right way again. :) :) Don't feel too gulty about not helping him - he's 25 years younger than me!
-
Couldn't resist the temptation any more - took the tractor out for a spin around the lanes out the back of my house.
Slow speed sideways action.... ....very childish....
-
Just down the road a load of
idiots 15ish year olds have rolled up huge snow balls and put them in the road, so cars have to stop and then pelting them with snow. ;D ;D ;D >:( >:(

Daughter is hoping her school is closed so that she can come to work with me ::)
