My son has just come back from a skiing/boarding holiday with his mates up the French Alps.
A glass of coke was 12 euro's,a pint of beer 8 euro's.They got just over a euro (1.16) to the pound prior to going, when some of them run out of money they were getting 0.96 euro's to the pound.
Watch the tourist industry collapse next when peeps find out what its going to cost to go abroad this year.
And on the other hand some might say that this is just part of the wider agenda to get 'parity' or less so the sheeple will accept our entry into the eu' currency.
Will brown let the pound drop to lets say 0.9 euro's and then tell us what a wonderful deal he has struck to get us parity ?
Watch this space..!!!

yep! i was there last week, bag of m&m's (big bag) £7.50!!! :o
My lift pass for three valleys was £219! :o
All those places near the ports that sell booze and fags by the bulk load are just going to die.
Petrol over there is now £1.25 a litre thanks to the exchange rate!
I was thinking of a camping trip to Holland in the comming months, but we will most likey switch to the Lakes or Yorkshire!

Please dont remind me of the exchange rate....... :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
-
And just as depressing for those who have been frugal/lucky and saved some money, the interest rate is now 1%. :'(

Yep, it's crippling our company at the moment. We purchase our hardware from a German manufacturer and our software from Belgium and invoiced in Euro's. Our expenditure has almost doubled over the last 6 months!! Not sure how safe my job is now as our cashflow is getting worse and we've been running in the red for some months now. :(

The crap exchange rate is the price you pay for the low interest rate that everyone applauds when it drops
