And I bet all the schools were open. This country is pathetic. I hope the school holidays are reduced by the amount of un-necessary days off for both pupils and staff. We have definitely gone soft.

If you regularly expect extremes of weather then civil authorities are ready for it.

If its an area thats never seen snow since 1957 or whatever, why lay against the odds and buy in expertise to circumvent when the cash can be spent elsewhere?   :-/

If you regularly get winter extremes then you adjust accordingly.

When was the last time you heard of the extremities  and higher ground of Welsh Wales or Scotland winging on the national news??   :(
