Title: Elocution
Post by: STMO123 on 08 February 2009, 10:01:06
Poor Paddy was getting nowhere in life. At job interviews, as soon as people heard the broad Irish accent, he knew he had no chance. He decided there was only one thing for it - elocution lessons.
He went on a six month course and worked very hard. When it was over he had the plummiest of english accents. He couldn't wait to try it out. He walked into the first shop he came across and, after perusing all of the newspapaers on the counter he said "Excuse me my good man, I'll take The Times, The Telegraph and The Independent".
The man behind the counter said "You're Irish aren't you mate?".
Paddy, in astonishment, said "How do you know?".

"This is a fish and chip shop"
