help please if you can,,

i have recently purchased x reg punto speedgear (cvt auto)
i have the headgasket to do  but the dash does not work, the only thing you get is the airbag light with the ignition, and the clock,
 the green indicator bulb lights up when the hazards are on but not when i put separate indicators on and the green side light bulb lights up when i turn the key back one(to take key out of ignition with sidelights on) but not when i switch them on at the stalk

im not good with electrics but have checked the basics, i.e fueses, connections,  (how do i check relays) :question

any ides, do you think the unit could be at fault, or more  :(

any help greatly appreciated :y
