Just got it back!! Passed no advisories, Well Chuffed! although £53 for an MOT feels a bloody rip off these days!

bit steap for the cost of the mot i only ever pay £40 max for any mot's i take to the garage i know so well

Did phone round a few places and all were the same price so I just picked one closest to work.

think are place is charging £45 to public with free retest if repairs done on site, and £40 to trade , half price retest atm

Much cheaper than buying /owning a 2007 upwards car I call it cheap motoring in a miggy couldnt afford anything like these cars in the newer models... glad its ok m8y mines due inanother month on one of em .. :y

As to price - I pay £47. Bearing in mind its about 45mins labour, thats around the right amount imho :-/

I 'Think' thats the MAXIMUM a garage can charge for an MOT
Theres a few places in York doing them for 35 quid (retail too) :y I dont know if theres a catch though! :-/

I always use the same stn. regardless of the car & the test fee is £40.
Main thing is she passed mate. :y

Last time I had mine done, it was £50 for the test, failed it on rear pads, then charged me £25 for a re-test, what a pi$$ take!

£32.50 i pay but i probly get 15/20 done a year so trade prices ! :y

They probably make their money on the repairs 'required' to make it pass. My Astra is booked in on Mon at my usual place where they don't do any remedial work.

Another pass to add to the list! After failure last week, 4 new tyres, new exhaust, new steering idler and repair to front strut, we got the much longed green sheet. The beast has been told he has to start behaving himself or he needs to find new digs.
