Title: Getting Suspicious - E mails
Post by: Mr Skrunts on 15 February 2009, 08:51:05
With all the email scams arround  I allways try to double check what I open in my email box.

I am used to getting "security Alerts" from banks with whom I dont even have an account with, that when you check the mail properyies I fing an embelished Yahoo account to return details.

Todays is regards my Electric bill, to log in/setup up an online account to to give my current meter reading.

I automatically became suspicious as my electric bill is with NPower and my Gas is with Brittish Gas as I never changed either of them.

I have checked the link out and the site looks like the proper one, but just simply because they asked for details of an account I dont hold with them I just dont trust it.

Plus the link had the word Anonymous in it.

Not saying the site is false, my suspicion started because they emailed me regards my electric accout which I hold with NPower, had it have been them that emailed this thread would not have been created.

As I mentioned, I get emails regards access to my banks, like Barclays for example where I dont have an account.

It's just me.  I am getting Paranoid.  ;D ;D

Why do you bother opening these links? They are obviously spoof so delete the email and forget about it.
