Posted this elsewhere in another thread but its perhaps worth a thread on its own.
Check out your local Aldi store from thursday onwards....
heavy duty seat covers - £4.99 a set
wing protectors (for when working on car): £3.99
trolley jack, £9.99
foldaway car creeper, £11.99
foldable axle stands & wheel chocks, £5.99 a set
workshop lamp, £4.99
Trolley jack is 2 tonne, TUV approved and has a 3yr warranty.
I've used Aldi stuff before (computer, other electrical bits and bobs, tools etc) and they are not always bad (some are kinda kack) but check it out first.

I'm always last out the starting gate with these Aldi bargains! I didn't hear about the compressor stampede until a week after!! ::)

These bigger bits like compressors, computers and the like come round regularly, almost by the season.
I got a compressor there a couple of years ago and its invaluable now thats its easily to hand.
Got an air hammer with hammer 6 sided sockets, a tap and die set, angle grinder, pillar drill and like by times. OK, its not the highest spec of kit but, to my mind, its worth the wonga they ask for them and for a home spanner twirler, easily ample to the task.

Alot of these value priced tools available at Aldi etc are very useful for occasional diy use and are well worth the money

I see in todays paper they are advertising one of those power pack things for £24.99. Not sure of the spec etc but I guess it would be handy to have.

Does anyone know if these offers were for one day only, or whether they run for longer? I have a mate in Liverpool who says he'll pop in for me to one of his local stores, but I don't want to send him on a wasted journey unless someone can confirm the offer is still running.
Cheers
