not going to make the slightest bit of difference, The company's will go thru the process of advertising to "everyone" and interview the candidates, then they will still end up chosing the imigrants cos they will do anything they are told to for the price of a bag of jelly beans.
This is becoming an issue up where I am now, up until 7 or 8 years ago there was hardly any polish, latvian, croatian etc etc people here, Now since they have found out they can work here for less than the "locals" they are arriving by the bus load,
The majority of them cant or wont speak or socialise in english, they are rude and seem to expect that we do what they say.
This is a very touchy subject to say the least.
They have all had their holiday, time to go home!!

They are probably playing to the gallery as usual.Afaik it would breach european law (which supercedes British law) to advertise jobs which exclude citizens of member states, just as it would probably not be lawful to advertise in Essex for people only born and bred in Essex.
Of course if europe overides them on it,then they will say they tried and its not their fault ,its those nasty europeans.
Even if it was workable, whats the point of closing the stable door,10 years after the horse has bolted.

We should have listened to Enoch Powell!

Yep, afraid youre right Albitz, horse/stable/bolt. As per usual the govt respond to what a massive proportion of the population have been saying for years. Shouldve taken the stance on immigration that the French or Australians have been doing for some time now. I know were in the European union now but surely any jobs up for offer should be at the same rate of pay and not tendered to attract cheapest workers. There must be a way of passing this in law surely?
