Minee would be a different decade but still the Impala :y
If we didnt have our miggys, and im thinking of roughly the same age and priced cars, what would you have? I was a big fan of the ford granada/scorpio,had 3 over the years. So what would it be??...
Beemer 740i/lexus ls400/senator.
Thwaites dumper truck would do me.
And have the added advantage I could get my own back of caravanners.
got to be a scania 164 580 with all the bits, whistles and bells and the t cab :y :y :yQuoteIf we didnt have our miggys, and im thinking of roughly the same age and priced cars, what would you have? I was a big fan of the ford granada/scorpio,had 3 over the years. So what would it be??...
Got to be the Granada! Best car ever. I've had a Mk3 2.9i Ghia X for the last eight years, but it failed the MOT quite badly a month ago, hence the Omega. I still own the Granada pending a decision as to its fate - I'm hoping to go for a decentish restoration job rather than just lash it up to get it back on the road again, but a lot depends on how much rot we find when we take the tank out... :-/
What I'd really like (and we're entering a parallel universe here, in terms of price and practicality) is a Scania! ;D

Sounds good - except for the effing speed limiter! >:( Way outside my price range though. If I remortgage the flat and eBay the grandkids I might be able to afford a 112 or 142, which apart from being more my sort of era would have the massive advantage of not needing a speed limiter. No 56mph flat out! ;D ;D ;D
(Have a look on my website, www.cybertrucker.co.uk, to see what I think of speed limiters and why they're lethal.)

Ah, the FH series - beautiful lorries! (See my avatar on the left - one of the ones I drove on night trunk for BHS a dozen years ago.) Only bad things about them is they're flat out at 56 MPratherH. What a beauty that motor would have been if I could have actually driven it, instead of being the passenger holding the wheel... :'(
Auto box on a lorry though? The one on my tractor is bad enough - the thought of a limiter and an auto on a lorry is just too much to bear! :o

An ex-U.S plod jobbie was on Pimp My Ride (or one of those programmes) last week. Not a lover of the multi video screen and stupid gizzmo make overs but they didn't go too stupid with the Impala.
No need for anything major on the engine. Left it as was as far as I can remember. V8 GRRROWWWL :y :y
