I had one of these when I lived in Bury 30 years ago - memories of driving to Cornwall with a pram on the roof. Paid £1800 in 1979  for a one year old one off Avis. sold it for £1600 in 1982. Great  car but tappets always a bit noisy.

2.0 100bhp cam in head engine, hydraulic follers on these so tappet noise not an issue.

But then I have never found tappet noise a problem on any GM engine in the last 40 years unlike bloody Ford ones!

But in 79 I suspect it was a 1600 or 1900 like mine which had solid lifters and required the 'tappets' adjusted with a running engine  :-?.

My later 2.2 CiH Carlton and 3.0 CiH12 v Senator had hyraulic lifters though. :y
