Out of curiosity, how much did you pay for yours? Bearing in mind that this is a manual so would be worth slightly more in a working state, although I think yours is in better nick so that probably balances out.

The auction still has 3 days so it may still go for more you never know :-/

Hmm don't think I'm prepared to go that high, saying that yours did look mint apart from the engine problem (and slushbox ;)) so maybe that was reflected in the price.

I also suspect that this is a real head gasket failure too rather than oil cooler, as it's losing water rather than the water mixing with oil. Unless of course it's just a misdiagnosed leak but I seriously doubt anyone would sell a car as head gasket failure just because it's losing water without a thorough investigation first.

I think I'd just plunder it for parts TBH rather than trying to fix it up.

Cool will be interesting to hear how it goes. Let me know if you're going to bid, as I'm thinking of bidding depending on how much the price rises and there's no point us bidding against each other.

If you're just looking to raid it for parts rather than fix then maybe we could come to an arrangement that would benefit both of us. Depends on whether you want the leather though ;)
