The mayors comment...

Luton's Mayor Lakhbir Singh said earlier: "The Royal Anglian Regiment was given freedom of the town some years ago and we are proud to welcome them back."

Sounds fine to me....

Is that 'foreign' as non English or non British?    The United Kingdom consists of 4 countries, not simple Engerlund...

I would caution you carefully to consider your reply....   :-?

No, I think its a few misguided, weak minded souls who have been "told" that this is very bad and they should go and protest. This happens in any society, lots of people get led by the clever ones. Look at the Satanic Verses book, lots of people protesting. I wonder how many of them actually read the book.

In most middle eastern and African Islamic countries no such freedoms exist they have freedom to protest due to soldiers like these.

Well done to the british public for standing up for the british soldiers, the ethnics seem happy enough to take our money to buy their posh homes and posh cars, I think racism works both ways not just against the ethnic community.

Being as we live in a democracy anyone here has the the right of free speech so anyone can express thier opinions. One of the protesters spat at the mother of one of the soldiers. That is rather' outrageous & beyond the bounds of democracy, if that was my Mum who was gobbed at i would'nt hit him, i'd snap his neck pronto before i got dragged off the sorry tinker.

The bottom line is. They shouldn't have been allowed to protest because they are racist and any that did wave bannners like the ones we saw should have been prosecuted and dealt with using the full force of the law. But no polititian or police force knows how to deal with racisim in this way or has the balls the confront it for fear of being branded a thug or a bully or a member of the BNP. I wish one would come forward as they may find themselves becoming the next prime minister. Racism works both ways.

Don't pick on Muslims as a group - those bunch of turds do not represent the average one just as a NF skinhead yob does not represent me.

There are quite a few Muslims in the forces, and a lot of Muslims want to be British.

Most minorities want to fit in and be liked, the PC nonsence is all from idiotic social workers

Personally, I do not think that we should still be in either Iraq or Afghanistan, but these are British soldiers who do not make the decisions as to where they have to fight. They go where they are told and they join up knowing these dangers. This  in no way, however , should detract from the fact that they put their lives on the line for their country and these protestors are bang out of order. If they want to protest do it against the right people-the politicians who make the decisions. Like everyone else on here, I believe that if these people hate it so much over here then bugger off back "home" and see how much they like it there!!Just think that, as has been said before, there is a grave danger of all this "racism" (on all sides) escallating out of control. For those who can be bothered to look a bit into history you'll find that in ancient times when Islam held sway over much of the world it was actually quite tolerant of other religions then and in very stark contrast to the christianity of empires that followed. Moreover, there is a lot of ignorance being spouted about-remember Bush's dad and co putting Bin Laden and Sadam in bed together when in reality they would happily have killed one another ? Dont subscribe to all these popular conspiracy theories but would urge everyone to watch "Zeitgeist". As one of its biggest critics said , one of the worst things about it was that so much of it was true. At least it'll make you think about how much of our percieved knowledge is actually true and how much of the news is being manipulated by others.
