I think '00 is the last year they used the straight 6 BMW motor. Anyone know for sure ?

Bugger all.....not much in it
They finished production on the straight six diseasel in the UK on 2000 model year.
Some parts of europe got the 24V common rail BMW engine with 5 speed auto box after this!

What was the power difference between the 6 cylinder BMW unit and the 2.2 DTi???
Std 6 pot is about 130bhp. Chipped adds another approximately 30bhp, which makes a big difference.
Not done my current mig yet, but I did try a Tunit plug-in on my auto Elite.
Auto box lasted 2 days ::) Ah well, ya live 'n' learn.
I think the 2.2DTi is around 140 bhp. Not 100% sure though.
