It was so easy.  I drove the car into a big garage, went to work and came back 2 hours later to find they'd fitted themselves.  Although I did think the parking was a bit steep at £45 though.  :o

From the sounds of it I'd have had a hell of a job getting the drivers one off without it being on ramps.  I'd also have paid £30+ for a torque wrench and at -4* this morning it seemed to make sense....

Agree - i got my "mechanic" to do my brakes last month - got them on Trade Club and he took £40 quid to do it - again it wasa cold wet day so i didnt fancy rolling about for hours for the sake of £40.

That's what I'll be doing next Monday with my front £95  :o wheel bearing. The last wheel bearing I bought was about £20 for the front of my Cortina, but that one didn't come with a bloody hub!  >:(

 £95  :o

Matchless got me mine for around £30 - £40.  Which reminds me, I still need to give him the money  :-[

Have you noticed when something goes wrong for 1 of us we all get it like measles.  My front n/s is making more noise than normal - hoped the brake was just dragging a bit but I fear its the bearing  :-/

Sorry Barry - got you mixed up with The Barge Captain:

Re: Handles?
Reply #22 - 24. Jan 2007 at 14:57    I see the "handle" thing as a bit of fun.  If i am contacting another forum member via PM then i give my proper name, as you would feel like a bit of a tit phoning the house, the wife answering, and having to ask for the Barge Captain.  There are a few on here who know my real name, and most who don't, but whether you use a pseudonym or your real one, your reputation is built on your on-line knowledge and behaviour.  Would you think any more or less of me if you knew that I was christened Wurzel  Maurice Dagwort?
No,  didn't think so

Just my two peneth worth.
