Hmmm, few hundred, depending on condition... ...generally I've found Autotrader gets the best prices - you may be able to get a grand for it there possibly.
Your downsides - its a 12 year old heavy depreciating car, and its January.
Sorry, its probably not what you wanted to hear :(
-
Not much help Jay but a friend of mine has recently bought an 'N' reg, same spec as yours, 98K, windscreen intact for £575 :(

A friend of mine sold his N reg elite 77k, to his next door nieghbour for £2300, about 3/4 months ago.

Phone AA's neighbour - obviously oblivious to the price of cars - ask for a grand and he'll think it's a bargain and can keep one as a spare ;D

Jay!! Your car was on eBay, no? I believe I was bidding for it!
Is it still available?
-
I'm Vaguely interested, I must be honest, the pics looked good.
Pleased to see you are a member here too.
Like the others say, the offers that have been given probably are actually a fair reflection of what the cars worth, if it needs a windscreen.
Omegas are a joy when it comes to buying, because they're cheap, but not really profitable to sell.
Can't remember if this one had any tax...?
Drop me a PM. Absolutely no promises, but as others here know, I AM looking for a reasonably priced Elite 3.0, so there is a remote chance we may be able to do business.

I think its the one, I found the same listing and posted it in his galley thread, think he posted back saying it was still available due to a timewaster but i'm sure he will confirm.

Cool, I have dropped Jay a PM.
If he wants a quick sale, and to save messing with the Calibra swap thing, I may be prepared to offer what others here are suggesting is a good price..

Hiya mate,
I'll have to be frank, I'm sorry, but I'm not in a position to give £800 for it.
While I agree with you that it seems to be worth that sort of money, unfortunately the market isn't going to see it that way, and with all respect due you'd be very lucky to raise that sort of money. At a guess, I reckon you would fetch £700 for it, IF it didn't have the problem with the windscreen.
I asked around, and have found a 2nd hand screen that can be fitted for me at total cost of £200 - so just for example, if I paid £500 for the car, it would mean I'd have an Elite, for £700 - which is about the top whack, for an M reg.
Looking from a buyers view, If I paid £800 for the car, with the cost of the screen it would be £1000, and meant in the nicest possible way, you're not going to raise that kind of money on an M reg car with 103,000 miles on it. There are T reg ones with digital climate control and onboard sat-nav and side airbags going for the £1200 mark.
Another problem with these cars, is that although the 3.0 engines are lovely, coupled with the fact that it's an Omega, it does add to the depreciation!!
No pressure, if you don't want to sell then I'll certainly understand.
But regardless of whether you sell it to me - you do need to weigh up your options, because the longer the MOT runs out, and the longer it sits, the value will continue to drop significantly. Don't forget it's 12/13 years old
If you want any advice about what it's worth, ask more on the forum - the guys know their stuff and will give an honest appraisal.
If upon consideration, you would be willing to accept £500 in cold hard notes - drop me a PM and maybe we could do business at the weekend.
:)

guess who was right in their price it would sell for!! :P

Apparently not. See Jay's thread in the gallery section :(

Ah well. Unless I find anything in the meantime (doubt it, I'll be busy) then my offer remains good for now
You know it makes sense ;D

Have you recieved a yes or no from him :question
Only the only response I can see was from my posting of the link.

To all you guys talking about 'depreciation' - the car is 12 years old! Any depreciation now will be minute, it really doesnt matter if the car is a '94 or a '97, it's all to do with the cars condition at this age. 103,000 miles is below average, and it looks to be in good condition. It has FVSH, which is rare, including the cambelt change. If I was the seller, I'd get the windscreen replaced for £50/£60 on your insurance and stick it on Autotrader for £850, leaving you open of a bit of haggling. I bet you'll sell it no problem. It's worth more than £500 without question.
-
I suppose with paying £895 for it only a month ago Jay, you would feel it was worth more :(
-
It's worth more than £500 without question.
Thank you...
I wont take £500 for it and thats that, Ive been offered £600 and turned it down, I would get the windscreen sorted but I just cant afford it, £200 for windscreen? Get the insurance to do it for £50 as said above. Im not in a position where im desperate to sell it that cheap, and I never will be... :D

Just glad people can see where im coming from thats all, Its an insult to offer me £500 knowing full well I'd said it was a ludicrous offer when id previsouly been offered it, I'm back in a position where I can keep it for atleast another month and fix the windscreen, I should have a job by then I dont usually hang about in finding work... Its lovely to know that theres people out there who try and kick you while your already down :y Yeh I might sound like a bitchy young lad... but thats what I am haha ;D
Love you all x
-
Jay,
I had already suggested a low value for your car, not because I wanted to buy it (perfectly happy with mine, if I did change, it would be something newer), but as a genuine view of what I thought it was worth. I think this is bourn out in the fact you have struggled to sell...
Alas, its a 12 yr old, 100k car - and a model with heavy depreciation, and needing a windscreen (£75 on insurance). And its January.
I'm really pleased it sounds like you are in a position to keep it, as I suspect its worth more to you than its current value... :)

Matey, absolutely no insult was intended...
I work on the motto that "If you don't ask, you don't get"
In fairness, I wouldn't do an "insurance job" on something I was already buying as broken - it's just not morally or legally right. So the £200 quote to fix was realistic.
I understand full well, that to you the car is worth more than £500, but to many others, I'm not sure it is (unless that screen is fixed, and then like I say, you'd be looking at about £700.
To be honest, I'd like to see you keep and enjoy it and remain a part of the forum ;D
