and so he should be jailed for that stunt and even had his legs cut off
but 10 months
whats that gonna do when he gets out and jumps back on a bike and does it again

Depends on what he has just done.....................if he is speeding ....because he has just ..............robbed a Post Office....or mugged an old woman......or murdered someone then yes.
However ,he is clearly a danger to other people .........but again................as far as I can see nobody was hurt......so a spell of community service..............or a suspended sentence would seem appropriate to me.

The last guy who was given a custodial for riding his bike at 122 MPH......should have just received points on his licence in my view.

I'am very much against a  custodial sentence for a  motoring offence....in which there has been no damage to human life or property.

Perhaps we should put criminals in prison .......not motorists. :y :y :y

Did you see his overtaking on a bend, double white lines with oncoming traffic ?

I wish they were as harsh as this when they were sentencing the guys who killed my bro during their race through our village  >:(

I like riding fast same as anyone else, but he was putting others in danger. The overtaking on a bend was not a good one by any stretch he was way over the wrong side of the road and seemed to me as though the on coming car didn't miss him by much.

About 20 years ago there was a guy from aroung here how was done for doing 187 on an exup... he was caught at the airport trying to do a runner ;D

Prepared to be shot down here but as this was in my patch and an area we travel through most weekends it struck a nerve. Fact is down these parts we don't have many traffic police around and we also have some lovely bendy roads which appeal to over enthusiastic/inexperienced bikers/motorists alike. Lost count of the number of times I've driven past bikes hanging from trees/embedded in hedgerows etc. and there have been some real tragic accidents with groups of kids racing cars down some of the same routes. There does seem to be a lot more bikers around these days on big machines which appear at speed from behind or in front. I don't mind them enjoying themselves but when that is forcing me to take evasive action to avoid hitting them when they are on wrong side of road I take exception! I guess the sentence is meant to reflect this growing problem but could just be one-off.

Dont have a problem with any particular speed, you either believe in never going above 70,or believe that it depends on various factors and use your judgement.I think his worst offence was the overtaking on a bend with oncoming traffic.
Dont think it warrants jail sentence personally,as others have said serious crimes where people get hurt/killed often has a lesser sentence attached, and after the labour peer killing someone through dangerous driving and being released after 17 days, then imo the government and judiciary have zero credibility in the area of road safety.

On that logic, someone threatening people with a gun is OK so long as he doesn't shoot?  There are lots of griping on here about Police not doing anything until someone gets hurt, well here they are!  Good!

Poor analogy...................the trauma caused by pulling a gun on a person (even if it is not used).......should not be compared to a speeding biker (who does not kill anybody)......some form of punishment for this biker........... would seem appropriate .......as he was a little reckless.......but no prison sentence...........in my view. :y :y :y :y

Drink Driving is much worse - why are they not jailed?

Community Service and Ban would have sufficed.

Interesting to know that if speeding gets you locked up does shoplifting get a life sentence?

just  because the police did 150 doesnt mean the bike was doing 150 as the bike had quite a lead and they where trying to catch up.
but he was very lucky on that bend
jail why?
scumbags rob and beat people and get fines, asbos etc
the sentance dosnt fit the crime

cancelling his license for 1-2 year would be a rational punishment,

not prisoning him with maniacs and killers and letting them teach him

every sh*t..  As I have seen many times, people who are prisoned,

go outside in much worse and uncontrolled state after

learning/experiencing  many bad things :(

i agree with that one ? there are more crimes commited far worse than going a bit fast ?? and they get away with an asbo ? that must hurt these hoodies who hang around on corners . and beat o.a.ps and rob them thats crime  :y :y
