Title: Just been given a......
Post by: stuart30 on 18 March 2009, 22:09:39
Honda Accord..1998...2.0 auto.

Needs new back box by the sound of it and should pass MOT.

Quite a result. 8-)

Does anyone know what years or models had the Honda engine as opposed the rover engine....or is it a case of looking at the engine.

Looks like Gemma"s just found her ""learning too drive car"". :)

Yeah we have had the discussion about learn in auto and your ""stuck"" with auto and she"s happy with that...she wont drive much at all just when needed so doesnt make a huge difference.

Insurance wise im slightly concerned although she"s 39 so not a youngster....actually not knowing these cars ive no idea how powerful they are,i assume alot would depend on weight of the car...torque ect.

Might be wise too MOT it and sell it...use the funds too buy her a smaller car. :-/

It's an older car and as you say she is not that young, :-X was not sure if you were talking about a daughter.

My swmnbo would never dirve an auto, till about 18 months ago, now she says she never has no intention of going back to a manual. ;) ;)

Not too bad for a learner though, check smaller cars before you sell, may not be much less. :y

She did have a Hyundi accent (escort size car) and believe that was about £300....so yeah not much difference.

Hmmm wonder if her 1 years no claim would still be valid.

Im pretty certain im going too MOT the honda and sell it....more i think about it the more i dont feel its really suitable.

Either that or keep it and sell the Estate.

It's not quite as good, but if you put it in sport mode, then it is fairly quick of the  mark. If you want to fly around country roads then No, if you potter about then fine, that is all we do
::) can still put some speed down if you drive it manually :y :y
