I love the MkI SD1. I had a few & they where cracking motors :) :) :)
I don't like the estate though. I saw one at a SD1 rally once, the owner had used parts from a Volvo, it looked ok i suppose :-/ :-/

it is or was on display at gaydon motor museum a couple of years ago, think two of the sd1 estates were built nice looking car,
but for me the iceberg project up there is the thing to look at, can you believe they made a diesel rover v8?????/
couldnt get it to be reliable tho the power it made kept twisting the blocks!!!!

The power the 3.5 petrols made twisted the blocks...hence they were made stronge for the SD1's............and they never got the V8 truely reliable during its entire production run!

been looking for ages
thank you again

Nice one, if Rover / Leyland had produced a decent executive estate, based on a quality car, the likes of Volvo may not have got the foothold in the door at the time they did. Too late now.... ::) ::) ::)

There was a SDI estate at the haynes motor museum nice looking car would have probably sold well. But what did we get instead the Country Man. When ford brought out the mk3 granada they didn't have an estate for a few years so the mk2 estates held a good second hand value until the new model was released. The Jag estate was a conversion I believe kniown as the linx eventer and still very sought after. I'm glad Vauxhall made the Omega.
