Title: Whoops! N95 no more.
Post by: Big Fra on 13 April 2009, 19:27:04
I dropped my trusted N95 on the floor t'other day. Done it a few times before and no issues, but this time, my screen was blank.

Doh!

Went to Vodafone to try and claim my insurance for accidental damage.

No spare parts! No replacement N95!

The only thing they could do was to send me the N96.

Probably one of the only phones I really dont like, but at least they are doing summit eh?

Anyone on here have an N96?

Are they as good as the N95?

Sorry to hear your bad luck mate

I have an N95 8gb and its simply the highest quality, most complete, best specced phone I have ever had.....

I have heard both the N96 and the new 5800 are both a significant step downwards quality and reliabillity wise.....

For evidence of this check out Nokias own customer feedback forums

My son has an N96 and he really does swear by it. I also like it a lot apart from the cheapo build quality.

Just upgraded to a n96 from the silver n95.
Yeah the build quality has went a step back, but apart from that, its a great phone. the screens a lot clearer & the menu is a bit easier to navigate.

I've just started to load it up with music & a few films etc, touch wood no lock-ups yet

looked at the n96 for the freeview digital mobile tv, it was on the pre release spec, but the service is not available in the uk until they finish the switch over i'm told so not worth having. And the rest of the spec. is all a step down from the 95 from what i remember. Even Jamie used to say there is no more feature packed phone on the market....in so may words anyway, personally i never use most of it mind.

I think my words were along the lines of "there is no gayer phone available", but in all fairness, that was before I'd spent much time with the Apple gayPhone...

N95 spec list does look good, though reliality is that N95 is a poor phone, both from a reliability point of view (though improving with each firmware, but still not great) and a build quality side.
