Post by: bikermike on 14 April 2009, 12:32:58
hi folks, i have just joined so i.m a complete newbie i own a 1998 opel cd td estate auto with a straight 6 bmw motor, the car was imported by a vauxhall dealership in 2001 & completely rebadged as a vauxhall including the owners booklet. i bought the car as an opel (log book & chassis no,agree) the problem i have is getting it insured i use the CMSA at the moment but this years renewal policy is a bit steep. i ,ve tried loads of other companies but their webpages don,t recognize the model, can anyone reccomend a reputable insurance company who would offer me insurance cover.   bikermike.

If you fill out an online quotation form, they may ask you the regNo and then it will tell you what 'the world' thinks your car is.
I'm surprised CSMA don't do it.

I currently use Chris Knott http://www.ckinsurance.co.uk/car_insurance.html as a broker having ditched Direct Line because of price hikes.
