Just wondered what everyone was getting out of their wheels??
I took my car for a drive after fitting the cam cover gaskets and given it a good clean, did just under 100miles, and managed to get 37.1 mpg....
But, i was driving as if i was on my driving test...
Is that good for a mv6 estate??
-
If you got 37 odd mpg that is good in either a 2.5 or 3.0 :y

No point in having a V6 and driving like granny. Give it some and be happy with 25-28.

i was getting about 15 as i tend to have a heavy foot...

My problem is taking off like a bat out of hell -- just can't help it in the miggy !!!!!
Maybe I should try to pretend I am in a funeraal procession !!!!

Totaly gobsmacked with mine today.
Put £50 of juice in, nipped into Sheffield. Collected 7 Sq Metres of 100mm tiles. Boot was allready packed to brim with junk.
Came up the Parkway @2300 rpm indicated 64 mph and the car showed 49 to 54 mpg with out cruise. Same run I would normally expect to 33 to45 at best. Weather was OK, level road. Set the cruise at that speed and went Southbound on the M1 which was uphill. Still showed 33.1 instant mpg on cruise.
Dunno if it was a fluke, of if all the extra weight made a difference. Also had an adult passenger. Might never see those MPG figures again, but was interesting while it lasted.

Mine is a 2.5 auto and my journey to and from work is a mixture of dual carriageway, rural and urban. No passengers but a boot full of junk (well, actually , all car related stuff that the better half thinks Ive got rid of as she doesnt want it in the shed ;D). I average about 29mpg and thats without playing with the sports mode and reminding myself of the 9 points I still have and the local undercover patrol cars...

My 2.2 just ran for 500 miles = 35.3mpg.
Some granny driving at then end but mixed motorway and urban for the main.
I'm not sure what had the biggest effect but recently changed the oil, plugs, fuel filter and sealed the exhaust (new last year) and mpg up 10%.
-
pulling the van when it was windy to wales24mpg
but coming back there was no wind drag 36mpg
till i got to kendal where ther was side winds (saw the windsocks)

My mpg has increased by about 20% on a run since I changed exhaust. I think the back box was pretty much blocked solid.
-
Ok don't want to bother myself with unit conversions but my best result so far was 6.9 litres per 100 km.
Ok it's just a 4pot but think it's quite good for a car as heavy as Mig
-
Well I bothered with unit conversion (bored at work ;D)
41.1 mpg for my car
-
Grrr one thing I forgot to mention.
Open road, but not leveled. Lot's of uphills downhills etc.
The consumption was even a little less than written in the car manual.
