Yup had a few of these :y :y

Watched it too -- great :y Might be looking through rose tinted specs -- but it was a happier time ( even with the Faulklands). Life was less ... complicated. You just got on with it without all this PC crap :y
And those SDIs weren't so much a body prone to rust, as a rust heap with a bit of car thrown in -- but I loved them too -- eventually, after getting over the loss of the P6 !!!!

A Chrysler Alpine and an Austin or Morris J van. Not much of a selection. ::) The bike looked like a 4 cylinder, but don't think it was a Honda, forks too long, any idea?

Ah yes, the CB radio and the ....erm ..... illegal antennae. On the subject of which, remember those whip aerials you had to clip to the gutter ... if it came loose in motion it could decapitate several pedestrians ;D :o

I think this was the last Military campaign that actually brought the Country together. This is my own opinion, but may be because the Country was so very different then. :-X

Yes that may be very true, but in terms of the subject of this series; the police, it was just prior to PACE of 1984. In modern times it has been unfortunately proved that in all too many cases the wrong person was imprisoned for somebody elses crime. This was due, no doubt, to the police practices at that time of "we will get somebody for this", and if the evidence seemed to fit........ ::) ::)
It may have gone all too much the other way now in the PC culture, but I would never believe it was right for a "fit up" to take place :o :o.

Nah there FM, CEPT spec or 27/81 (for 27mhz legalised in 1981!). No licensed requried as of 2006.
So on AM your only likely to get the US on a good day.

The next good day on 27MHz will be in another year of two when the sunspot cycle picks up so there's no hurry to get it down from the loft. ;)
