I'm v lucky, just phone or pop into dealer and order what I want - automatically at TC, without the need for card production, etc...

Even though Ive not been in there for a few months  ::)

Yep, the two dealers I use don't bother asking to see the TC card anymore..... I must visit them too regularly  :-[ ;D

Find the site useful when you need a part number as it lists the breakpoints.

3 things....

1, the address - www.tradeclub.co.uk
2, a username - If YOU are a member, fill out the form at contact us, and they will set you up.
3, your password.

if you are in ABS, email one of the moderators, who I think will supply you the details

I contacted Alf, club secretary, and he didn't know.  :-? I got it from Dave W in the end, although they seem to be a bit reluctant in giving it.

The way these companies work on pricing, I'd guess for some reason their supplier has bumped up price, or possibly original supplier gone tits up, and replacement one is more expensive

Probably a supply & demand situation--the higher the demand the higher the price--it happened with wishbones a few years ago.
Very little demand for an item makes it as cheap as chips.

Stupid idea really, you would think that keeping the prices reasonable would increase the demand and the unit price should go down keeping the buyer from the hands of the Pattern manufacturers.
Makes me wonder if there are no more on order from the makers cause they have a shed load allready.

As it's not a current GM engine I guess it isn't a great concern for Vauxhall, most if not all of the 54 degree V6's will be well out of dealer servicing and be maintained by home mechanics and the independant trade.

I think the opposite tbh

GM are going to put a set percentage on top of cost.

GM have massive buying power, and can and do screw the suppliers to the lowest possible cost.

I'd say as these engines may well be getting less common, may GM are only committing to half the number they did before, thus a higher price.

Additionally, if they are from a euro supplier, the Fiscal oppsup in this country ensures that the price will double from 15months ago.
