I find its not much more expensive to go for 2 weeks but its the fact you have an extra weeks spends to find, I always prefer self catering but ends up being more expensive. We paid £355 each which aint too bad, good reviews on the apartments too. No 2 For Sidari on trip advisor and holidays uncovered.com  :y

I hate sitting on Beaches too, you can go on some amazing walks & drives abroad too. Nothing worse that sitting on a beach all day. I like to be off doing something, seeing things. Quads & Boat Trips/Hire for me!!  :y

I wish!! ::) I'll bloody need to when I get back!!

Total cost is £1700 each all in including premium economy flights - wider leather seats with loads of leg room and all food and drinks free during the flight, non-stop films etc. All inclusive at the hotel really is all inclusive - food, drinks and room service available 24 hrs a day, local and imported beverages available 24/7. Luxury rooms with mini-bar topped up every day. Hotel is beachfront location and has 2 huge pools and swim-up bar, watersports, entertainment, casino, several restaurants incl. Italian and Japanese. Not going until October so got a bit of time to save up providing the Mig doesn't have any major problems in the meantime. :-X

Yeah, it does seem a bit on the expensive side but considering in previous years when we've been to Ibiza, you were looking at the cost of flights and accommodation PLUS around £800 to £1000 spending money for 2 weeks so the cost isn't that much more, and now with the Euro being on par with the £ it's even dearer to go there or anywhere in Europe.

Roll on October  8-) :y

Off to Normandy with the wife and 2 sons in 2 weeks time....taking  :ythe Mig plus my parents are coming along to the same resort and taking their Astra....should be fun!!!

Then 3 days in Moscow in August for the MAKS airshow (Business class with BMI)

Then taking the Mig over to Lodz in Poland again to see the in-laws. Thats a 2500 mile round trip with me and a mate sharing the driving. Took us 23 hours to do the 1250 mile trip out there last time we went.

Its a good year for holidays !!!

The roads through France, Belgium, Holland and Germany arent too bad at all (barring traffic problems)

There is normally a queue at the German-Polish border, but its once in Poland that the roads get REALLY bad !!!!

Their A roads have troughs gouged by HGVs that are so deep its dangerous !!!

Try Slovenia, i went there, very nice country.

Petrol is cheap, airport brand spankers.

Couple of hours on the Italian Coast, couple of hours to Austria as well. Slovenia itself very interesting country, MrsDTM would like Lake Bled ;)

You really have not grasped the concept of kids and traveling yet  ;D ;D ;D

Plus, the flights to there in the time when we can go are....

...£788 quid a seat (Ryanair have no availability at £90+ all the Ryanair extras!)

What are the dates?

Try Adria Air, they fly from bhx...
You're missing the point, its probably not the best place for a young family ;)

still looking at options. Its the concept of kids and traveling which Marks DTM is talking about that causes delays. So far looks like it will be Croatia this summer
