Post by: Dusty on 05 May 2009, 16:24:55
We have some Dutch friends staying.

They arrived in an Opel Omega 2.4i.

I've never heard of that one before.

It has four cylinders

Here are a few pictures of it

Thanks Dusty :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

Can't say that I've heard of a 2.4 either. We/UK used to have a 2.2 CiH in the Carlton (I think Opel called it a Commodore :-/) previous to that, I know Opel had some diseasal versions that Vauxhall didn't have, which had a 'power bulge' in the bonnet to accomodate the straight 6 lump.

yep, its an opel omega A caravan. Production ran from 1986 to 1993 with a minifacelift in 1991. Powertrains were 1.8, 2.0 and 2.4 4cyl petrol and2.0 and 2.3 turbodiesel. Think they also added 2.6 and 3.0 v6s as well.

In my youth times i had omega a saloon '90 2.6i (150bhp) and estate caravan '91 3.0 24V (205) Both in manual, lsd :D
The estate rusted away but saloon came with reinforced arches and lasted well. oh.. i go all sentimental thinking about them  :-[

That engine was common in Europe with that car.
But most of the models sold in Europe were 2.0 if I can remember correctly.
