Always liked the look of them - especially in black, such a presence on the road. But havnt they had a few right-ups re build and finish quality? :-/

Sorry LSG, but I still prefer your MV6, which I saw the other day in Sainsbury's car park.

Still the best looking car in the car park; well except mine!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;) ;)

300C shares its chasis with a W124 Merc so i expect that side should be good

300C uses that HEMI engine that turns its self into a 4pot on idle ie fires on 4

I love the looks of the 300C I even like the look of estate, not that you'd be able to carry much in it - it's tiny in the back. I think I'd always feel cheated if i didn't buy the 6.1 Hemi V8!!! They're nicer inside too, darker interiors rather than the pale grey in the others. There's always the lottery tonight .... or next week .... or the week after that ......  ;)  ;) :y

A friend of mine has one, spends more time at the dealer than it does on the road.

Though you could say that about a lot of Merc's these days.

5 series is a nice car, whether it be the previous e39 model or the current e60. I've driven an e60 and thought it was perfect. I've also driven a 300c, and I'd say please DON'T BUY ONE. They're cheap in comparison to vehicles of similiar size, and that's for a good reason...build quality and interior is poor. The engines are good, but the interior really lets it down. You wouldn't believe me really until you look and drive one. If it was a choice of a 5 series or 300c the 5 would win any day. But it's all personal preferences...if you like the 300c buy it...it'll be your car and no need to please anyone else. I do admit they have a great presence but you'll feel let down whenever you drive it.

the new 5 series with the m back alloys really are starting to grow on me, a 530d would go down very well. Still way out of my price range though

Ummm, not trying to cause an argument here but bmw are so common, it dont matter how good or bad a car is, the rarity value of the 300c is immense. 5 series bmw's are dime a dozen repmobiles in my opinion.

When dropping my kids off on Saturday morning for football training, at least 2 out of 3 cars delivering kids where bmw's. bmw are today what ford where in 70s and 80s, the common man's man's car.

Sorry to sound like a snob, and I am really  a poor working class person, if I really where a snob would a drive a 96 Omega ?

What day was that??
Was on the rare occasion that I got MY Bmw. I came out with the battery will go flat on the Omega if you dont use it so last week it was used everyday, now the mrs. has the BM again  >:(
**EDIT**
See now they are nice and cheaper: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2006-CHRYSLER-300C-3-0-CRD-Auto_W0QQitemZ370179270345QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAutomobiles_UK?hash=item370179270345&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A0%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50
Maybe a diesel but they're so weak compared with the Bm equivilent.

Give the 300C a big miss. I went on a 600 mile round trip to test drive one with a view to change my omega the start of last year and i thought WOW but on the way back to the garage the gearbox packed up and this was a 18 month old, 30,000 miles and a price tag of £18,500 car, NOT HAPPY >:(

If your after a 5 series than i know of a E39 03 525 D auto sport in silver with black leather, 165,000 miles with FSH and just had a £4250 bill with BMW for a new gearbox. He bought the car 4 years ago with 40,000 on the clock for £19,000 and he only wants £3500 for it now :)

But it cost alot more than the Omega dti elite new so what would you pay for an 03 dti elite with 165,000 miles now.

I must say i would pay more and i did see not so long ago 02/52 CDX DTI with leather and 180,000 miles go for £2100.
