Birmingham City fan through and through.....................didnt know we had a blue's music scene ;D

Did you watch the programme on Peter Green and Fleetwood Mac on Friday night ?
-
Yeah, tragic what happened to him.I think all this talk of him being better than Clapton is a bit of wishful thinking though,
Talking of EC,him and Steve Winwood are on BBC4 in concert now, just started. 8-)
-
Yep , recording it .......
-
your in for a treat, as its Clapton/Winwood they are doing a lot of the old Blind Faith stuff, great to hear it after all these years and Winwoods voice is superb, very soulful. :y.......its followed by blues at the beeb,I would record that as well. :y
-
Cool, thanks for the info!!Have just set the "record". Favourite blues players anyone? My own have to be Buddy Guy,EC, Stevie ray and Muddy Waters tho I do quite like BB King and Robert Cray and Gary Moore's blues albums aint bad either!
-
Clapton is god! :)
I do like Gary Moores blues as well, saw him at a very small private gig a couple of years ago,he was stunning. 8-)
Buddy Guy,BB King etc,the authentic Bluesmen - great stuff. :y
Almost forgot the late great Rory Gallagher. 8-)

I`m feeling a bit 'low'; does that count? ;D

Well , just listened to a little of that Clapton / Winwood gig and it is SUPERB !
The rendition of " Can't find my way back home " was just beautiful with the two of them playing lead.
I have a rack of Stevie Winwood albums in vynle/cassette and CD but didn't realise how good a guitar player he is...
I'll enjoy that later ...... :y

I'm lucky enough to be off to see old "Slow Hand" at the MEN, Manchester later on this week. Oh joy!!!

We've spoke about Rory Gallagher before. :y
Don't forget Johnny Winter .
And listen to Joan Armatradings's last album " Into the Blues " .
I seen her live last year over here and she is an absolutley amazing guitarist.

I have always loved Peter Green, but the channel 4 show was poor and too long.
Peter has not aged too well, it was a shock to see this bald fat bloke rambling on, life can be tough even for Rock Gods!
And did someone else on here mention the Bloose?

I here what you say but I found the programme entertaining and a delight to re visit those days again .
I, like many, had heard all sorts of stories about his missing years and it was great to get the truth . It was all down to some stronger than normal LSD and that robbed us of a great guitarist for too many years.
However he's playing again and every bit as good . The only recent album I have is Destiny Rd (PG's Splinter Group ) but I seem to play it every week.
As for ageing well, I wish I looked the way I did when I was 20 ........ :'(

I know what you mean mate, my waist has also expanded a little over the years as well!
Peter was a genius in my opinion and wasn't it good to see Jeremy Spencer up and running?

I watched it on BBCI and thought it was a fantastic program ,fasinating to hear what the other members of the band had to say about it ,and after all these years when i hear "man of the world " it still makes the hair on me neck stand up .Then i watched the Blues Brittainia ,that Keith Richard cracks me up whatever is going on in the brain of the guy ,just shows, "dont do it" cos its gonna screw you up :D :D
