Gave a local a knock today as he has had an elite on his drive for a year or two with flat tyres etc, mentioned I could be interested in some parts but it would be easier to take the whole thing off his hands. Apparently the autobox is goosed and one of the heads had gone porous? Definately isn't goin back on the road....
Anyways I offers him £120 as I could take it and pick what I need at my leisure but he looked as though I had insulted his wife. It has the old leather int without airbags so I wouldnt make a fortune breaking it methinks, What do you reckon its worth?
-
Think £120 was well generous mate. There has been a couple through auction near here recently at £200 and they were running and MOT'd! :-?

Me too, just thought by the time I have all the bits I want I could get some dosh back for the cams and a few panels as it aint rusty at all( 3.0 v6 in met black BTW )
Might just wait till the grumpy old git pops his clogs and give his missus £50 for it ;) ( only joking...... £40)

Where abouts in Liverpool are you?
why? you got a spare 50 quid Steve? ;)
-

Sure as $hit ain't worth what you originally offered considering it's a non runner with a shagged box and a 2 bob interior.
As H12 said, £120 was more than generous (you'd get £50 tops down here if it can't move under it's own steam).

Quiet round there. I was born in Toxteth and then moved to Wavertree until I got relocated on the witness protection program.

I was in a scrapyard years ago when a crane grabbed an old american car a bloke had just brought in, just as he was waiting to get paid out.
There was lots of shouting and red faces as the car was swung across the yard with water and rubble spewing all over the place :-[

I knew he was fooking about, but I'll quite happily bet at least 20% of the others who read it are seriously considering it.

That's like the old scam when going to buy loose coal in your car/van.
Fill up a couple of drums of water, weigh the car on the way in, empty the water, fill the boot and pay for the weight difference on the way out. When I say old, I mean very old, going back 30 years or so....... :)
