Title: Cambelt Changes at VX Dealerships
Post by: Gareth Lewis on 23 May 2009, 21:18:57
Does anyone have any quotes for a cambelt kit and then the cost of having it fitted to an Omega from a Vauxhall dealership? If so - which dealership (city / town will do).

Also does anyone also know the book & trade price for a cambelt kit?

Many thanks in advance

Gareth :y :y

i would avoid a Vx dealer like the plague! Over priced and often not a good job.

Post up asking if anyone can help you, cambelts are beyond me, but quite a few people here can help you  :y

they're all over the bloody place now! Have you ever Googled Arnold Clarke? Arnoldsucks.com seems to have now been taken over by the porn industry..... there were some very savory comments about the whole chain of command not giving a monkey left .... once they got your money, and then fobbed you off with every excuse you could think of.

Arnoldsucks etc has moved to here ....http://www.arnoldclark.150m.com/html/mail74.htm

Just for a laugh I asked a local independant garage the price..was quoted 6.5 hours labour @£75=00p/h +vat and advised the cam belt kit was about £150=00 again +vat..thats is over £600 without even talking about water pump .

Yes - this was me - paid£270 for cambelt change. Something went wrong 4 miles from leaving dealer after fitting - dealer blamed bolts and they allegedly went to a specilaist engineer for testing. Any way it needed a new engine when the belt moved - VX paid for everything.

It did not end there - after new engine fitted had to go back twice with things they had not refitted onto new engine properly. They tried to sell me a new starter until I insisted they check earthing. I understand VX Luton paid for the engine and VX dealer paid for labour - 14 hour job I think it is classed as.
