Title: Any one fancy a spot of nostalgia ?
Post by: Ken T on 31 May 2009, 20:08:57
Just seen this Mini (proper one !) on fleabay, at a reasonable price.  http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1990-ROVER-MINI-1000-CITY-E-RED_W0QQitemZ220425492061QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAutomobiles_UK?hash=item335262165d&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A2|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A0|293%3A1|294%3A50

I wonder if I could still bend enough to get into it  ;D ;D ;D

You don't wana buy that, it's been stuck to a wall :D
At least it's a proper Mini, the new one seems to have lost the concept of the word Mini  :(

I have asked the owner some questions;

Any chance of some more photo's?
Is the speedo in the middle or in front of the driver,? ie interior style.
What price with a full MOT?
Would it be OK for me to arrange for someone to view it? I am a member of a national Car club, so a local member, to you, would come out.

Anyone live near this car?..... :-* :-*

There's a fair number up for sale, even going as far back as 1964 !. Quite a nice one is this cooper classic with sunroof. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Mini-Cooper-Classic-Stolen-Recovered-Salvage-Repaired_W0QQitemZ220423347275QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAutomobiles_UK?hash=item3352415c4b&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A7|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50

And if you fancy a real challange here's 11 cars for a knock down price http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/11-X-AUSTIN-MINI-WOLSELEY-RILEY-PRINCESS-ESTATE-SPARES_W0QQitemZ110374192406QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAutomobiles_UK?hash=item19b2d08516&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A1|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50

I'd better stop now, I'm nearly talking myself into something expensive !.

I couldn't get too nostalgic about a 1990 mini. The older ones perhaps.

Think how much fun you could have sorting out the subframes (and rotten) mounting points on those 11 cars!!
